You awoke in this world, and yet you know nothing. Everything is strange, nothing like it used to be. Or at least, you think. You have flashes of your old life, what you used to be.
When you choose this background, work with your GM to determine what you were in the previous life, and how much you remember of it. You may be proficient with something that does not exist in this world (cars, for example), but you may not know that, and it may become unexpectedly applicable to a situation. Who knows? Certainly not you, or at least, you don’t know why.
Source: Anora's Refuge
Setting: This background is intended only for Anora’s Refuge. However, it may be applicable in other D&D post-apocalyptic settings.
In your past life, you lived as someone else, a tinker, a tailor, a soldier, a spy. Who knows? You might, you might not. Pick any background available from the base rules or my ruleset/homebrew. You gain all of the proficiencies from that background (Skills, Tools, etc.), but none of the features. You can choose for your character not to know you have proficiency in such skills, and that they must discover that for themselves. How much you know of your past life is up to you and your GM.
Strangely, you own a small housing space in Theopolis, such as an apartment or a small house. You don’t know how you came to own it, but you own the deed/rent it. Your rent, if you have it, is paid off for the next few months ahead of time.
Your housing has little in the way of furniture. A simple bed, furnace, stove, etc. Everything you need to live and a little storage. You own the only key to this place, unless you rent an apartment.
