Anora's Refuge, a world of peace and prosperity, created by the Last God Anora when the previous world ended and the other gods left. Anora was the one who stayed, the one who preserved.
This land is surrounded by a great stormwall, a never-ending arcane storm that surrounds the refuge. Few have tried to pass, but none have returned.
To the west, South of the Godlake, lies an expansive swath of garden, full of beautiful white flowers always in bloom. These flowers have paths between them, creating a maze of rows and columns of blooms as far as the eye can see. At the center is a statue of a long-dead elven woman named Ilia Moonstone, with a crown of white flowers upon her head. At her feet lies a mithral hilt, able to conjure a blade of pure light shrouded in pure darkness. This weapon can be weilded by no one lest the weapon itself wills it. This blade had once slain a god, and had wounded another when Anora called it to fight the gods of Tyranny, Murder, and Death. This Evergarden lies a testament to the old world, honoring heroes of old.
The Wyldwood is a massive forested area on the west side of the main continent, a mix of forest, swamp, jungle, and other forested environments. In the center rests a massive tree, despite how young it is. It is known to be able to produce the Songs of War, albeit rarely, and typically only for Ardoni. In the Wyldwood, all manner of creatures reside, a somewhat natural balance of nature contained, to a degree.
The Blackpits, a massive quarry operation where all is collected from the earth to fuel the fires from lanterns to furnaces. A seemingly endless amount lies here, ready to be harvested. It is advised not to bring any flames close, magic or otherwise, lest you set the pits ablaze. Twice it has happened, and twice the infrastructure was devastated in fires that lasted weeks. But still, even after that, there still is oil. So work is done to keep it so.
The Godseekers, the name of the members of the three religious temples, whether they mainly worship Anora, Morgana, or Melena. Devout followers and religious guides, the Godseekers typically remain in their temples up in the higher districts of Theopolis, though some work in the lower churches. The Godseekers encourage the people to be good, to be kind, to be charitable, and to be humble. Those that have "sinned" are also encouraged to repent, and can choose any temple to visit for forgiveness, though arguably some are better than others. The Temple of Morgana is the most forgiving, surprisingly, but sometimes they can be too forgiving. The Temple of Melena is the most strict, unsurprisingly, but is often too strict, their method of repentance being seared by radiant light. This is where their typical phrase comes from, "Redemption in the Light." The higher the sin, the more intense the light and punishment, often searing those heavily, and sometimes even killing them. However, the worst criminals are sent here to be redeemed in the light, and those who do not survive are irredeemable. The Temple of Anora is the most balanced, and is often the most popular. Most people who have sinned go to the Temple of Anora.
Once every year on the anniversary of this world, we are allowed on emmisary to be sent to Anora's home. Every time it is someone different, one lucky soul to meet the center of our religion. And every time they return with a gift, a piece of the old world in the form of books, blueprints, instructions. Such gifts have been instructions on how to forge the strongest steels, advanced farming techniques, adamantine and mythral refining, or jeweling of the highest quality. Sometimes it is the history of the old world, such as part of the origin of the Ardoni, Chameleon, and Magnorite species.
Those that have visited Anora all described her home similarly. Anora lives in a small thatch roofed cottage near the top of the mountain on a flat portion. Despite any weather phenomenon around, her house is always sunny, warm, and clear. She has a garden of flowers, fruits, and vegetables, though she needs them not. Perhaps it is a hobby she has. Most important is Anora, of course, described as a blonde-haired elven woman with purple eyes. Most interesting is an old scar on her face, three diagonal slashes, two of which pass through her eyes.
The Shattered Verdania, as it’s most commonly referred to, is a large island in the southeast covered in some of the greenest plants in the refuge. The soil here is incredibly fertile, and yet none settle here for fear of disrupting this natural beauty. And the rampant plant growth, combined with very few people wishing to live outside of Theopolis, doesn’t help. Among the greenery are floating isles of rock that have broken from the earth and levitate, remnant magic from the great calamity. Additionally at the center lies a shattered mountain, broken under the force of a trillion sticks of dynamite, the first test site of one hte weapons that broke the world oh so long ago. Anora has left this mountain as a reminder of the past, and a reminder of how she will never let such a thing happen again.
On the eastern continent sits the Coranarch Desert, a vast and mostly unexplored territory. The rising dunes and howling sands are difficult to walk by day in the heat of the sun, and the night lies cold and treacherous due to predators. Above all of it lies the lava fields, an ash choked land of boiling pools of magma, rivers of molten rock making crossing more than difficult. Only a few people live on this continent at the edge of the desert on the closest point where you can still see the main land.
The Wounded Valley, a glassed portion of the Coranarch Desert, carved by godly power. It was here Anora, Morgana, and Melena fought gods of the old world who sought to to return and sow chaos. This valley serves as a reminder of their power and the lengths our protectors will go to protect us. But by far the most interesting part of the battle was when Anora called the weapon that lies in the Evergarden to threaten the other gods, for that weapon could unmake anything, even dieties.
The Northern Reaches, a small continent to the north-west of the main land. A cold land full of coniferous trees, snowy mountains, and frozen tundras in the northernmost parts. While debatably more explorable than the Coranarch Desert, it is still mostly unexplored, with only a few settlements on the southern coast. The Northern Reaches is closest to the Stormwall, able to be seen from the north-western coast on clear days. Some of the waters are populated with geothermal vents, creating a unique aquatic ecosystem that thrives in the warmth between cold, dark waters.
