On Theopolis

Theopolis is the only city so far on Anora's Refuge. Approximately 60% of the population lives there and it is unlikely to change. Founded over 200 years ago at the base of the mountain called Godhome, Theopolis hosts the center of our religion. At the highest point of the city is the Grand Palace, home to a majority of the Godseekers, our main religious orginization. Though the main temple is dedicated to Anora, there are sections for her daughters on opposite sides of each other. Beyond the tmeple is the Cold District, where the richest politicians and nobles live. Below that is the upper district, for those who have a good amount of money or live in favor of those in the Cloud District. The middle section is split into several sections, including hte Lake District, Industrial Distric, Housing District, and the Miner's District. Last is the Lower District, ever epxanding out in tho the fields at the base of Godhome.

The Cloud District

Do you get to the Cloud District very often? What am I saying, of course you don't. - Nazeem

The Cloud District, aptly named for its height, though it remains below the clouds. It got named for its views on foggy mornings, high above it appearing to be above the clouds. It is up here the richest folk live, noble houses that rose to power over the course of this world or the descendants of the leaders of old. A good number of the church of Anora and Melena live here in larger apartment complexes, clost to their temple. Strangely, despite their temple prescenes, the Godseekers of Morgana prefer to live in the lower districts. From the Temple of Anora lies a holy path that winds its way up the mountain to the peak where Anora resides. A lesser known path makes its way up the back side to the peak, though it is incredibly perilous. Pilgrims have been known to attempt the climb of the Pilgrim's Path for an audience with Anora, but none have succeeded.

The Upper District

The Industrial District

The Industrial District is where all the things are made. Few people live here amongst the large assembly buildings where people work to produce goods. Those that do live, do so on the edge of the district, in more specialized shops for richer or more specific clients. The far edge of the city in this district is often fouled by smog from fires, oil straight from the Blackpits. Arguably the shadier business also happens here, deep in smoke clouded streets and alleys. It is advised to bring air filtering equipment or magic for going deep into this district. Because of the pollution, the Lower District does not spread on this side of the city, leaving a clear path out the back gate to the Blackpits.

The Housing District

The Housing District, as it is called, is where most people live. Situated inbetween the three other middles districts, this district is not just for housing. A great number of the shops, markets, parks, temples, and schools crowd this district, making it the largest of all districts in the city. Several of the Wizarding academies are here as well, tribute to Anora whos domain lies over magic and knowledge. This District is also ever expanding into the Lower District nearby, converting lesser housing and areas into better communities as the population of the city grows.

The Miner's District

The Miner's District is the almost the smallest of the four middle districts, dug into the mountain directly underneath the Upper District. In a mountain blessedly full of minerals thanks to Anora, the miners here delve deep for the wealth of the earth. Deep go twisting channels, shafts, and tunnels. It is also here the metals mined are refined for usage all across the city and towns beyond. Often this is where you will find the Dwarves, Drow, Magnorites, and Deep Shroomanoids of Theopolis.

The Lake District

The Lake District, known for its proximity to the Godlake, is the smallest of the four middle districts. It is here the docks and shipyards lie, the home of the fishing industry. Upon the sparkling waters, hundreds of boats float, docked or crossing to and fro, travelers, vactioners, and fishermen alike. Richer folk in the Upper and Cloud District own sections of the Private Docks portion that connects with their districts, either for small trading and fishing fleets or pleasure yachts that see little to no use.

The Lower District

The Lower District, the ever expanding district that sprawls out into the fields at the base of Godhome, is the largest district in the city. It is here the poorest of the city live, whether farmers, laborers, or the homeless.
